Teal Halloween Pumpkins Signify Non-food Treats for Allergy Sufferers

by

Have you seen a teal pumpkin this season? They’re more than decorative! The Teal Pumpkin Project raises awareness of food allergies, promoting inclusion for all trick-or-treaters.

Teal is the color of food allergy awareness, and a teal pumpkin on your porch means you have non-food treats for little ghosts and goblins. In the U.S., 1 in 13 children has a food allergy, and your pumpkin tells them they have a safe space to trick-or-treat with non-food options.

What can you give out besides candy? Small toys, glow sticks and stickers are great choices.
