For nearly three centuries, editors and advertisers have controlled the media channels, while PR professionals were left to suggest coverage for their clients. Today, with traditional media outlets downsizing staffs and news spaces and advertising budgets shrinking, meeting clients’ demands for more and better media placements has become increasingly challenging. Veteran award-winning journalist and PR firm owner Chris Schroder realized there was a viable solution to the problem – establishing the first PR publishing platform.
Recognizing the need for a concise publishing platform that harnesses the power of eNewsletters, social media and websites, Chris and the SPR Atlanta team developed The Atlanta 100. Taking into account today’s Twitter-influenced attention span, The 100 network features exactly 100-word articles and exactly 100-second videos on topics of intrigue.
Schroder presented SPR Atlanta’s success with The Atlanta 100 to the PRSA Counselors Academy 2015 and PRSA International Conference in 2016. The response from the attendees was dramatic and instantaneous. Based on their response, The 100 Companies added 22 other markets stretching from Denali to Dubai, including The Memphis 100. Several more markets are in the pipeline to launch in the coming months.
