A new kind of news source coming to Memphis

by

This fall, a nonprofit daily news source will be launching that President Eric Barnes hopes raises the bar for journalism in Memphis.

Although The Daily Memphian is its own entity, it shares ties to The Memphis Daily News. The staff of 25 includes some of the industry’s biggest names like sports columnist Geoff Calkins, food and dining writer Jennifer Biggs, and editor/columnist Chris Herrington.

Although the news source is online only, the staff aims to uphold the tradition and high standards of print journalism. Topics covered will include sports, business, politics and crime. A subscription costs $7 a month.
