A group of visually impaired students from the Colonial School were given a special opportunity at Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid recently.
As part of a program by Temple Israel Women of Reform Judaism, the group got to participate in a fish feeding, received a behind-the-scenes tour and tried their hand at duck calls.
The organization has participated in the Adopt-a-School program for more than 30 years. This year, they adopted the school, which offers services like braille and reading instruction and education services for students enrolled in Shelby County Schools and some private schools.
