Dive into each culture you encounter

As a travel advisor, I am often told that people want to travel to experience new cultures. It is my job (and my passion) to ensure exactly that.

One of the most important aspects of travel, whether you are on a staycation in New Orleans or going on safari in Tanzania, is cultural immersion. A few recommendations I always give:

• Learn a little bit of the language; it will endear you to everyone you meet.

• Meet locals and get their recommendations.

• Step outside of your comfort zone (with food, location or shopping).

• When planning, go to the experts.
