Memphis is a great place to be for women entrepreneurs. According to the website magnifymoney.com, Memphis is No. 4 on the list of best cities for women to start businesses and is notable for its high median income for women entrepreneurs and its strong startup scene.
The website survey looked at factors including median and average incomes for self-employed women and the percentage of self-employed people who are women.
However, the website also noted most women were unable to get by on their business income alone and many used it only as supplemental income while starting out.
