The anticipation for a new season of shows by Playhouse on the Square never gets old – even as the regional theatre celebrates 53 years of live theatre. The 2022-2023 season invites the Mid-South to find their place in the season offering 11 regional premieres and two world premieres.
The theatre will once again host the national playwriting competetion NewWorks@TheWorks, and will stream the staged readings and the winning productions nationwide.
From musicals to edgy dramas, anticipated highlights of this 54th season include “Something Rotten,” “The Scottsboro Boys,” and Tony Award-winning musical “The Jersey Boys.”
