Being proactive is key to good health. Along with exercise and eating well, perform these easy at-home health checks:
• Pulse test: Place two fingers on the base of your wrist and count your pulse for 10 seconds. Multiply by six to check your heart rate.
• Oral test: Run your finger along your tongue and gums to check for bumps, soreness or bleeding.
• Chair stand test: Sit and stand as many times as possible in 30 seconds to test leg strength, preventing falls.
