Indie Memphis Music Festival: Creating community through film

by

The Indie Memphis Music Festival aims to create community through film and support independent filmmakers in Memphis and throughout the world. Past attendees have included Chris Parnell of “Saturday Night Live” fame, as well as Memphis native Ira Sachs.

During this year’s festival, which runs from Nov. 1–5, Barry Jenkins’ movie “If Beale Street Could Talk” will make its debut. Otherwise, the festival offers opportunities to see films that don’t show in theaters.

Many international filmmakers will be in attendance, from countries like Israel, South Korea and Zambia. Attendees can view their films and hear them discuss their work.
