Memphis theatre house revives new holiday tradition

by The 100 Companies

After 28 holiday productions of Peter Pan, Playhouse on the Square is doing something a little different this year.

For Season 54, Memphis’ professional resident theatre company is reviving The Wizard of Oz Nov. 11-Dec. 22.

“This story is about finding friends, working with friends and working with imperfect friends, which is something that we can all think about right now. We’re not all going to be absolutely perfect as we walk through this world,” Director Whitney Branan said.

Youth actors of all ages will join the ensemble cast, bringing munchkins and flying monkeys  along the yellow brick road to life.
