Funny woman Judaea Driscoll keeps Memphis laughing

by
Judaea Driscoll

Memphian Judaea Driscoll has been performing local comedy for one year. The grit of this 20-year-old aspiring comedian goes beyond her vivacious personality and smart humor.

“The hardest thing about doing comedy is that, until you’ve been doing it, like, a decade, you suck,” she said. “You feel like you have to be funny all the time, even when people with twice your tenure aren’t…comedy is the coldest form of art there is because nobody just lets you have it.”

Show support by catching Judaea’s next production, Ebony Flowers, on May 12 at the House of Mtenzi.
