Cummins Inc. has chosen Memphis’ East High as the site of its first-ever technical education program in the United States.
The Technical Education for Communities (TEC) program will teach students specialized technical skills and give them hands-on experience to prepare them for a career following graduation. Cummins has 22 educational sites operating around the globe.
The new program creates a unique opportunity for the year-old T-STEM Academy at East High School to become a model for how schools across the country can successfully work with industry and education partners. The program will launch in fall 2018.
