Anybody considering a teaching career will want to keep an eye on Shelby County School’s teacher recruitment efforts. SCS announced it will host SCS Preview Weekend, March 31 – April 1, to give prospective teachers a preview of the district.
In Tennessee, 80 percent of new teachers return to within 200 miles of the schools they attended within five years, according to the Tennessee Department of Education.
SCS invites all aspiring teachers to the weekend, kicking off Friday evening with a Memphis Grizzlies game and reception, and ending Saturday with a teacher job fair at the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts.
