Pumpkin spice and everything nice attracts visitors and locals alike to the “Peaceful Side” of the Smokies. For folks keen on stepping back in time, the Blue Ribbon Country Fair at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center in Townsend offers a chance to step back in time – if only for the day – on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Enjoy living history demonstrations of open-hearth cooking and blacksmithing, visit with farmyard livestock or join a historical game of “Farmer in the Cove” – a hands-on experience that includes everything from picking apples and gathering eggs to sweeping the cabin porch and doing laundry by hand.
