The thriving health care and logistics sectors have helped spur job growth in Memphis. Promising developments abound, including a $1 billion commitment by FedEx to modernize its sorting facility. FedEx actually funds startups like Tech901, which helps future IT professionals develop.

Plenty of other cultural factors draw talent into town, including the rich history of Memphis and its thriving music scene.
