Sharon Griffin, Ed.D. has been promoted to Chief of Schools for Shelby County Schools, where she’ll work in partnership with the Office of Academics.
Griffin served as superintendent of iZone Schools, SCS’ turnaround program to help failing schools, since 2012, and as a principal and teacher in Memphis City Schools. Under her leadership, iZone Schools have been recognized nationally as a top turnaround model, having moved six schools out of the state’s bottom five percent.
Her vast experience and expertise in turnaround strategies will add value to schools that serve children and families in Memphis. Read more in Ebony.
