Technology Changing the Game for Nonprofits

by Michael Polzella

Virtual reality technology is evolving from its use in movies and video games. Nonprofit organizations have recognized the potential it has and are taking action.

Organizations are creating simulations of their cause and bringing their efforts to life. Donors, stakeholders and volunteers are able to physically be a part of the problem and watch as their time and donations create real change.

The simulations allow viewers to look around and actually interact with the scene using their body. Research shows that if done correctly, virtual reality has the potential to be more effective than any other media in evoking empathy.
