Facebook’s latest efforts to minimize the population of fake content integrates a feature that many users have already been using – Related Articles.
Launched in 2013, the Related Articles feature helps users discover new articles they may find interesting about a particular topic. The company is now testing the feature as a key tool for users to test the validity of shared content.
Before users click on an article shared in their News Feed, additional articles – including ones written by third-party fact-checkers – will appear below the shared content to offer additional information and alternative perspectives on the same topic.
