My saving grace during COVID-19? My garden – a backyard respite that’s keeping me sane. When this all started it was overgrown with weeds. As I cleared away the debris, I discovered carrots and lettuce still thriving from last fall. I added eggplant, squash, tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, herbs and more.
Over time I’ve realized so much from my little postage stamp sized urban farm. In all this chaos, I’ve wanted control. There’s beauty underneath, even when you don’t initially see it. Sometimes growth takes longer than you’d like, but patience pays. Joy can always be found in the littlest of things.
