Nine elementary schools in Shelby County are now clean, beautiful and ready for the students’ return to school on August 7, thanks to volunteers who participated in Shelby County Schools Day of Service.

On Saturday, July 22, hundreds of volunteers of all ages convened at Dexter Elementary, Highland Oaks Elementary, Hamilton Elementary, Scenic Hills Elementary, Richland Elementary, Rozelle Elementary, A. B. Hill Elementary and Vollintine Elementary to landscape, paint and tidy the schools up in time for the first day of school.

This event was hosted in partnership by Volunteer Memphis, Clean Memphis, Memphis City Beautiful and Shelby County Schools.
