White Station Student Raises Funds for Harvey Victims

by

Lunchtime for high school students is normally a chance to catch up with friends, but a group of White Station students used their lunch periods last week to collect money for victims of Hurricane Harvey.

London Pirtle says the images out of Texas showing the devastation caused by deadly flooding in Harvey’s path were enough to inspire her to act.

“Just think if it were you,” said Pirtle, a junior at White Station. “The right thing to do is help people who need help.”

Pirtle and her peers raised $1,000, which will be donated to the American Red Cross.
