Veteran Makes St. Jude Patient’s Day

by Michael Polzella

A St. Jude family is grateful for a guardian angel’s random act of kindness that came at just the right time.

A tumor was removed from the back of 16-year-old Austin’s brain, after he was diagnosed with brain cancer two months ago. Austin must wear a hat if he goes outside.

When the St. Jude Ronald McDonald House had an emergency evacuation, he met a veteran named Corey. Corey spoke of his tours overseas and explained how his hat often kept him safe. Corey then gave his hat to Austin, so it could do the same for him.
