NFL Player Dontari Poe Helps Feed Memphis Families in Need

Former Memphis Tiger and current Atlanta Falcon Dontari Poe was back in his old neighborhood.

Poe’s nonprofit, Poe Man’s Dream Foundation, joined the Mid-South Food Bank to give away meal boxes with hot chicken dinners and two weeks worth of groceries for 200 families living in the 38118 zip code, where he grew up. The median household income there is roughly $15,000 less than that of Memphis overall.

He founded Poe Man’s Dream to help youth in Memphis follow their dreams and give them opportunities to succeed. Now, Poe plans to makes this holiday event an annual outing.
