A sea of people recently attended an emotional event at Shelby Farms Park to stamp out cancer.
The West Cancer Center hosted its signature West Fight On 5K to raise money for adult cancer research, prevention, care and patient support. Participants cycled, ran and walked to the finish line in support of cancer patients and survivors.
The West Cancer Center, which has served patients for nearly 40 years, says it hopes to continue to engage more community members through this annual event. This year’s 5K raised $625,000 for the center. WMC’s Felicia Bolton served as emcee for the event.
