Explore Bike Share wants to serve Memphis students

by Michael Polzella

More and more students are attending the University of Memphis, and other organizations have taken notice. One nonprofit wants to give these students more transportation options.

Explore Bike Share, which has dozens of docking stations throughout Memphis, will soon be bringing more bikes to the University of Memphis. The partnership between the two organizations was made possible by a recent $580,000 grant, which the university will use to install multiple docking stations containing 60 bikes total.

Administrators hope this move reduces motor vehicle usage and improves air quality. The bikes are scheduled to arrive in the fall of 2019.
