Rozelle Elementary School students created artwork with the hope of bringing comfort to patients during Breast Cancer Awareness month. The CAPA Art program donated about 20 homemade cards to the West Clinic, filled with inspirational messages pulled from books they’ve read this year.
The children spent a month planning, drawing and decorating these unique expressions of hope. Freddie, a Rozelle fifth-grader, dreamed up a new species of bird for his card — America’s Cancer Life-Saving Bird.
“When a bird sees an obstacle, it flies above it,” he said. “I hope my card helps someone know they have that power.”
