Paddle the Park at Shelby Farms

We Memphians are fortunate to have access to one of the nation’s largest urban parks.

Shelby Farms offers numerous amenities — hiking trails, horseback riding and a playground rated by Mental Floss as one of the world’s coolest.

Another amenity, available during the spring and summer months, is the use of rental kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddle boards from the Hyde Lake Boat House. It’s a terrific park activity for experienced paddlers seeking exercise, as well as for folks who desire a relaxing day on the lake. It’s also an excellent, affordable practice opportunity for first-time canoers and kayakers.
