The city’s oldest cafe revitalized

The Arcade Restaurant has expanded, 100 years after it first opened. “Memphis’s oldest cafe,” as it is affectionately called, has certainly come a long way since the days of potbelly stoves and its original, wooden structure.

On May 2, customers stepped into a revitalized restaurant featuring an additional 2,400 renovated square feet, over 80 new seats and a full-service liquor bar. The walls have a brand-new color scheme, and the restaurant even has a state-of-the-art sound system.

Next time you’re in South Main, stop on by, and discover this Memphis gem all over again.
