Chef Tam’s Underground Cafe (Part Two)

The cooking industry is overwhelmingly dominated by male chefs. However, there are female chefs rising above the odds, including Chef Tam of Chef Tam’s Underground Café.

Previously, we introduced the eatery, set to debut in the Cooper-Young area. Since then, the restaurant has opened its doors to a crowd of foodie fans and one grateful owner. She credits her grandmother with inspiring her through handwritten recipes left in an inherited cookbook. Those recipes now serve as decoupage conversation starters at the restaurant’s community table.

This Women’s History Month, we honor Chef Tam for turning her lineage into her legacy.
