The Metal Museum is a real hidden gem in Memphis. I’ve been there several times through the years and always find something new. They have a permanent exhibit and also traveling exhibits. They host repair days and do custom work. Normally one can enter the shop at the back of the property and see artists working on different projects, one can get an idea of what is behind making metal art or in my case, having an 80 year old outside large copper lantern repaired. Its located on the grounds of the old Mariner’s Hospital which is another piece of Memphis History and across the street from Chickasaw Heritage park, home to a burial mound.
