In the early 1900s, Graceland was part of a 500-acre farm. In 1939, the Moore family built a mansion on the property that was frequently used as a recital space for Memphis Symphony members.
In 1957, it attracted the attention of someone named Elvis Presley, who was coming off one of his biggest years in music. Graceland would become one of the few constants in the life of Presley, who spent lots of time on the road.
