Chalkfest at the Brooks Museum

by Michael Polzella

Who says playing with chalk is just for kids? Saturday, March 11, during the annual Brooks Museum ChalkFest, the plaza will be transformed into a huge canvas for local artists, aspiring artists, kids and kids at heart to create chalk art.

Participants will find inspiration all around, including acclaimed artist Victor Ekpuk, who is creating a 58-foot mural for the newly renovated African gallery; live music on the plaza by Couple Skate; and a performance in the rotunda by Ballet on Wheels.

The event is free. It is open from 10AM-2PM. Bring your own chalk or purchase onsite.
