Gospel Youth Choir Workshop Draws Teens From Across the Mid-South

by

In July, more than 200 local teens and parents attended a citywide, first-of-its-kind youth choir workshop facilitated by respected, award-winning gospel recording artist Jonathan Nelson.

The free workshop, which was sponsored by Brown Missionary Baptist Church, drew aspiring young singers, ages 13-18, from Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi to learn vocal techniques and develop performance skills.

“This workshop advances Brown’s mission of investing and empowering the next generation of leaders,” said Senior Pastor Bartholomew Orr. “The Mid-South has a rich tradition of gospel music and we want to capitalize on that through our young people.”
