Shelby County Schools students looking to jump-start their future were recently part of a signing day for the Tennessee College of Applied Technology, which aims to create a pipeline from school to the job market through skills-based learning.
The event mirrors athletic signing days, where student-athletes receive hats from their school of choice. TCAT’s signing day aims to honor those students who are pursuing a technical career field at TCAT and to celebrate the dignity of work.
Students had a chance to meet employers and make connections that will pay off in a few years after graduation.
