A new space for African-American artists

by
grand opening ceremony

Since 2015, The Collective (or CLTV) has worked to empower black artists throughout Memphis. However, the nonprofit has never reaped the benefits of having its own space.

That changed in January with the opening of the CMPLX, a gallery in Orange Mound. The space will give artists the opportunity to host critiques, share their work and develop their professional and creative skills. Artists of all different mediums, including dance, music and writing, are welcome at the venue.

In addition to fostering the development of artists and serving as a gallery space, the CMPLX will host CLTV’s monthly Decibel concert series.
